This problem occurs because there are too many column fields in the pivot table. The number of column fields that can be added to a pivot table depends on the amount of data in the source database and the memory available on the computer.
Solution:
When creating a pivot table, limit the number of column fields to three or four. To create a pivot table with many fields, use row fields instead of column fields. In general, row fields do not use as much memory as column fields.
